It has been my mission over the last years as a traveling artist to leave my mark every where I am welcomed to stay. So I’ve painted a tiny house in Florida, a wall in a child’s room in Ohio, and on it goes.
I’m so excited and honored at this time in my life to get to stay with my daughter and her husband for the winter. Aubree is expecting her first baby in December, a boy. We are all so excited.
As I was shifting from the Dragonfly and the house on 11th to Aubree’s attic, I noticed a neighbor sitting a dresser in the alley…trash? I asked. Yes, he said. The dresser, in perfect condition, was freshly painted white, a perfect blank canvas! So this past week I went to work and created this starry, colorful base and a few silhouetted characters…we can add more as Aubree and her baby grow.
I am so honored to get to be here so close to my daughter during this time. Nesting together. Calmly coexisting while growing a grandchild! So yeah, I painted him a dresser.
